Split Pea Soup
Another (to me) slightly unexpected combination of flavors. My husband likes this better than the really thick pea soup I have made for years.
I modify her recipe a bit: I don't bother with stock (the onions and carrots provide a good flavor if you let them brown a little); and I never use the mushroom soy sauce, just regular soy. [ 02.11.06 ]
