February 14 this year is my "personal MLK day." That is the holiday I dreamed up on which a person has lived 14324 days so far, the number of days that King lived in total. The personal MLK day may be used as a time of reflection on what you have accomplished and want to accomplish.
The article shows how to use SAS to compute the date. It's also very easy to compute using MS Excel or Open Office. In Open office, just enter your birthdate in cell A1. Then in an adjacent cell, type the formula "=A1+14324".
The date will appear (mine is April 19, 2006). I don't have MS Office on this computer, but it should work the same, or you might have to format that cell as a date to see the date.
This reminds me of the statement by Tom Lehrer on one of his recordings:
"It's people like that who make you realize how little you've accomplished. It is a sobering thought, for example, that when Mozart was my age, he had been dead for two years!"
