Parts of the coast around Mississippi and Loisiana are having some problems they think are due to oil drilling creating underground voids.
Dr. Klose's findings with respect to the cause of the 1989 Newcastle earthquake are being disputed here in Australia.

That's a good reminder than human choices can make a significant (negative) impact.
I doubt the forces that control things like oil drilling would bend to pressure to not do such things.
Then we have to ask, are we willing to give up our cars? Or the fossil fuel that powers airplanes and trains and and...
